Visitor Information Advisor – Portaferry

Part Time Visitor Information Adviso required for Public Sector Client in Portaferry

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an efficient and comprehensive information service including reception, enquiry, cashier, clerical and administration duties.

Job Description:

  • To service personal and telephone enquiries to the Visitor Information Centre
  • To deal with postal and email enquiries by the selection of appropriate literature and the production of necessary correspondence
  • To maintain suitable statistics and records of enquiries as management information
  • To maintain information files and provide administrative support within the Tourism Section
  • To produce up to date publicity and promotional material from all relevant sources for display in and distribution from the Visitor Information Centre
  • To sell crafts, literature, tickets, other goods and services and associated cash handling
  • To provide a comprehensive service to customers using the VIC Networks official accommodation booking systems and other information technology
  • To attend promotions, exhibitions, and receptions as required
  • Other clerical and administrative duties relating to the Tourism Section and use of relevant information technology
  • Responsible for the opening and closing of the premises and if required, to act as a key holder
  • Carry out light cleaning duties as and when required
  • Any other duties that reflect the status, purpose and function of this post.

Essential Criteria

  • Applicants must have 1 years face to face customer service experience in a similar role

Desirable Criteria

  • Preference will be given to applicants who are fluent in at least one major European language and have experience working in the Tourism industry.

A full drivers licence and use of car are desirable

Applicants will be required to work between 18 -29 hrs per week including evenings, week-ends and public holidays.
