Temporary Clerical Officer – HR

My client in the Craigavon area is currently seeking a temporary Clerical Officer to work for 2-3 months and be available to start immediately. The successful applicant will be work 37 hours per week and earn £8.41 per hour.

DUTIES

  • To provide administrative, word processing and computer support services to the Human Resources Department
  • Assist in the preparation of job adverts, job descriptions and person specifications ensuring appropriate paperwork has been completed
  • Carry out all administrative work involved in the recruitment and selection process
  • Provide general typing, word processing, computer and clerical/administrative support to the Human Resources Department, including Employee Relation meetings by taking notes and preparing typed documents
  • Assist with the annual leave records/reports
  • Maintain as current, the filing system and relevant records for all transactions and correspondence within the department
  • Filing, photocopying, faxing, shredding of all confidential papers as required
  • Co ordinate and deliver Induction programmes for all new employees
  • Produce ID Cards for all employees 
  • Any other duties, as allocated, consistent with the nature and level of the post.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Five GCSE passes including Maths and English Language (Grade A-C) or equivalent
  • OCR/RSA Stage II Typing or Word Processing
  • At least 1 year’s clerical experience in a Human Resources environment to include at least 2 of the following:-
    • Recruitment admin
    • Absence admin
    • Contract admin
    • Annual leave admin
    • HR records admin
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Excellent administrative skills
    • Able to organise and prioritise work
    • Be a good team worker
    • Competent in use of MS office
    • A high level of commitment towards the job
    • Able to act on personal initiative and take decisions within agreed guidelines
    • Ability to deal with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic and professional manner
  • Able to work additional hours when necessary

 

PREFERRED CRITERIA

  • OCR/RSA Stage III tying or word processing
  • At least 1 years clerical experience in 3 or more of the areas listed above
  • Competent in the use of HR computer packages
  • Knowledge of current HR legislation and HR practice
