Technical Architect

Technical Architect

Job Introduction

As the Technical Architect you will be responsible for designing and delivering quality technical solutions which are fit for purpose across a variety of projects. As the Technical Architect you will take ownership of technical delivery while providing strong technical leadership within project and pre sales environments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for successful delivery of the technical content of solutions that are overall fit for purpose. Delivery incorporates requirements capture, design, construction, testing, implementation and ongoing operation.
  • Operating within Agile environments
  • Liaises with clients as required.
  • Works with Solution Architects to define overall solution concepts and architectures.
  • Responsible for detailed design of solutions that are scalable, resilient, open, efficient, secure, and cost-effective.
  • Ensures that all implementation decisions are both technically and commercially viable.
  • Produces commercially viable estimates for technical work.
  • Leads technical review activities within project.
  • Identifies and resolves potential problems as early as possible.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of relevant technology developments and standards. Proactively shares knowledge.
  • Delivers valuable advice, guidance and thought leadership to clients on use of technology.
  • Identifies ways to improve effectiveness in solution design and implementation.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrable experience of providing Technical Architecture in large web projects.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology and demonstrable experience of delivering projects within an Agile environment.
  • Experience of complete project life cycle, with specific emphasis on design, construction, testing and tools and methods.
  • Sound understanding of tools, design methodologies and best practice.
  • Competence in three or more architectures and/or technologies having successfully applied them in a commercial environment.
  • Good understanding and application of quality practices.
  • Sound understanding of solutions deployment and operation as well as functionality.
  • Sound understanding of security, performance tuning, capacity planning, resilience, and availability across heterogeneous architectures.
