Systems Administrator

Senior Systems Administrator – Belfast – £28,000 – £35,000

As a Systems Administrator you will join an innovative and technically challenging area supporting a range of operating systems including UNIX, Windows and Virtual Environments. This Senior Administrator role within Storage is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house systems that support core organizational functions

You will work as part of a diverse team to support our clients global infrastructure. You will be provided with training support to equip you with the skills to make a real contribution to the success of the company. Currently a team of 12 people are based in both Dublin/Belfast office and there is continuous growth plan in this division.

Key Responsibilities
• Troubleshoots software and hardware problems, takes appropriate corrective actions and/or interacts with IT staff or vendors in performing testing, support, and troubleshooting functions.
• Performs basic user administration (adds, changes, deletes, disk space management, backups and file restores).
• Assists with the Design, development, planning & implementation of IT system solutions
€Being a senior position, the candidate will be expected to show technical leadership, able to provide training/mentoring to other team members

Essential

An IT related 3rd level qualification or equivalent combination of education and work experience
€ At least 3 years recent relevant postgraduate experience working in a large managed services environment
€ At least 2 years recent relevant experience with SAN & NAS technologies ideally EMC Vmax/VNX, Brocade and Netapp
€ Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies
€ Experience in Delivering solutions to tasks on schedule and to expectations
€ Experience of working within a service operations area
€ Proven ability to analyze existing systems in the context of business needs and determine how to refine/repair/refactor them as appropriate

Desired
€ Experience in VMware, windows and or Unix
€ Working knowledge of ITIL framework desirable
