Support Engineer (1st Line)

Support Engineer – Belfast

Hays IT have been retained by a leading Managed IT Service Provider to acquire an IT Support Engineer as they go through a period significant growth. The Managed IT Service Sector in Northern Ireland is going through a period of significant growth and there has never been a better time to focus on a career within this sub-sector of the IT industry where demand for commercial field IT engineers has never been higher.

As a First Level Technical Remote Support Engineer you will provide first line support to customers In NI and the rest of the UK in relation to their desktop and laptop PC environment. The successful candidate will own the ability to support, maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (All versions, but mainly Win7 & Win8) in a corporate desktop and laptop PC environment.

Responsibilities:

• Receiving and logging IT Service Desk calls using the company standard call logging facility
• Liaise with customers and provide information to aid them in their day-to-day IT related activities
• Provide the customer with remote technical support and act as their technical liaison
• Support a contracted range of hardware and software products and to assist the account team leader in the delivery of outstanding levels of customer service
• Perform daily backup monitoring and escalating any issues to the Service Support Manager

Essential:

• You must have 1 years’ experience to be considered for this position
• Server experience Windows Server 2008 R2+ / 2012
• Experience of installing and configuring MS Exchange 2007+
• WAN / LAN Configuration & Implementation
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on Routers / Firewalls and Switches
• A Working knowledge of printer hardware and print queues; preferably client based hardware is required
• Disaster recovery and Symantec back up OR Acronis
