Store Manager – Downpatrick

Store Manager – food retailer (FMCG)
Northern Ireland wide – Urgent requirement in Downpatrick
Salary: Highly competitive

The Company
Already firmly established in Northern Ireland, this fast paced food retailer is one of Northern Ireland’s top 100 companies, with plans to expand in 2015. Due to this expansion, they require experienced Store Managers across Northern Ireland, mainly in the Downpatrick area.

The Role (FMCG – Store Manager – Downpatrick)
This fast paced food environment will take in regular deliveries 2-3 times per week, turning over stock at a rapid rate. Footfall will be high and twenty staff will be employed in order to maintain a smooth operating structure. Your job as Store Manager will be to lead by example, with full responsibility for the running of the store, including staff training and development, health and safety legislation, to include food safety procedures and setting and achieving budgets – sales, margin, overheads and profit before tax. You will drive sales to the store by liaising with Head Office to promote the brand, and analyse data and operational procedures to ensure that the store is running to its optimum capability.

The Candidate
The successful candidate must have previous store manager experience in an FMCG environment. This is an exciting opportunity and needs the right individual with the right attitude.

Essential:
- At least 2 years recent experience of busy convenience or supermarket retailing at Store Manager level
- Commercial awareness and general awareness of competitors/market place – with an ability to use this knowledge to drive sales performance
- Good working knowledge of all fresh food areas and a proven ability to maintain an exceptionally high standard of operational efficiency and excellence throughout the store
- Proven experience in the areas of stock control, people management, cost control, local marketing, HACCP implementation, and security
- Financial acumen – ability to interpret data to make sound decisions
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:
- Experience in other areas of the business, e.g., Forecourt and Off-Licence.
- Further education in related discipline
