Solutions Consultant

My client a leading telecommunications provider is looking for a Solutions consultant to join their team on an initial 6 month contract basis with extension options. This is a customer facing role responsible for providing the technical interface that bridges my clients business requirements with the application of products and services. Main responsibilities of the role include servicing and retention of my client’s revenue and technical qualifications of new business opportunities.
Key accountabilities:
Primary technical interface as part of the aligned Account Team. (There are three key customer facing roles. The Account Executive being accountable for the relationship, the Service Manager being accountable for the service delivery and the Solution Consultant being accountable for the technical relationship) Customer adviser, Customer advocacy – Understand customer’s existing technical environment, provide technology roadmap and updates for customers, whilst internally represent the customers solution and technical needs. Providing thought leadership and innovation to the customer and the account team Responsible for defining and developing the Customer’s three year technical strategy and roadmaps Meet and exceed customer CVA targets through outstanding technical advocacy within assigned accounts Translate the customer’s business strategies and operational objectives into qualified solutions that transforms their business Analyse opportunities; engagement of Sales Specialist resources to provide specialist input to solution based on customer technology roadmap and immediate project requirements Solution Leadership: Continued focus on pursuit of sales growth opportunities as the solution lead engaging, driving and coordinating domain solution resources Participate in all sales types (AMC, Retention, Win back and New Business)Personal Development – Engage in appropriate Learning and Development activities to ensure possession of the required Technical Subject Matter knowledge to meet and exceed customer requirements Integration/leverage of presales Sales and Architecture specialists to expand opportunity coverage and customer engagement. Engage with all Telstra functional areas to ensure that the continual service improvement model is maintained
Technical skills:
Account based Technical Relationships- The Solution Consultant is a member of the Account Team and assists Account Managers in developing and maintaining collaborative technical relationships with select customers. By being deeply engaged in account planning activities and ongoing account servicing, the role is designed to deepen the understanding of our customers business and to develop key technical relationships in the account base. Customer Technology Strategy Planning- The Solution Consultant provides technical leadership for their aligned Customer(s) and is actively engaged in defining the technology strategy and planning initiatives. The expected decisions include short term project based account programs and the execution of complex low value sales activities to support BAU activities. Opportunity Identification & Technical Qualification- The Solution Consultant assists Account Managers to proactively identify new business opportunities within their aligned customer portfolio. Sales vs Solutions Leadership- The Solution Consultant develops technical solutions to identify new customer business opportunities, through the application of Telstra’s products and services. They collaboratively work with the team (AE/Sales Specialist/Solution Architects) to develop, propose and close opportunities, including customer presentations and documentation. Technical Subject Matter Expertise- It is imperative that Solution Consultants be recognised as expert on all Telstra’s enterprise solutions, and actively seek to maintain and expand that knowledge. The SC is expected to acquire and maintain knowledge of Telstra and Telstra’s Partners product sets and solutions capabilities as well as IT&T industry, competitor and global trends.
