Senior Systems Analyst – SMCE Solutions Design (Belfast & Derry)

The Role: 

Allstate NI currently have an opportunity for a Senior Systems Analyst within the SMCE Solution Design team. 

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced SA’s/Architects/Developers wanting to take their career to the next level! The SMCE Solution Design team supports both the Agency and Customer Facing DCIOs with strategic planning and design activities and deliverables from a business, project, and technology portfolio perspective.

 

The successful candidatewill be responsible for providing strategic direction, in collaboration with other stakeholders across the enterprise, to ensure project risks have been identified and assessed during the Demand phase and that a solution is evaluated from an enterprise holistic perspective to ensure both project delivery and enterprise goals are in alignment.

 

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • High level business requirements analysis;

  • Requirements clarification with various stakeholders;

  • Coordinate and review applicable enterprise reference architectures;

  • Coordinate and review architecture governance around standards and guidelines;

  • Support solutions architects in the development of the conceptual solution architecture;

  • Coordinate design input with key stakeholders;

  • Communicate and validate solution options;

  • Communicate candidate architecture;

  • Determine multi-team delivery responsibilities;

  • Provide technical details that DCIO development partners demand for L2 estimation;

  • Post Demand Phase estimation support;

  • Post Demand Phase knowledge transfer to delivery team(s);

  • Post Demand Phase governance role (testing and design reviews);

  • Development of the Solution Design Specification.

     

     Essential Criteria:

     

  • IT Degree qualification (or similar)

  • A minimum of 5 years development experience within a new technology ie .net/java/mobile.

  • A minimum of 3 years of Use-Case modeling and detail writing experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of general UML modeling experience with class and activity diagrams.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience developing Data flow diagrams.

  • Have a solid understanding of reading and understanding conceptual architecture models.

  • Be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate technical concepts in simple terms.

  • Ability to learn new domains and concepts quickly.

  • Able to work independently and develop solutions in a timely manner with high quality.

  • Must be an EU citizen or possess a current UK Tier 1 Visa or Tier 2 Dependent visa and eligible to take up full time, permanent employment.

 

Desirable Criteria:

 

  • Sparx Enterprise Architect tool working knowledge
