Senior Systems Analyst, University Information Technology

University Information Technology is York’s central information technology services organization, created on July 1st through the merger of Computing and Network Services (CNS) and Finance and Administration Information Technology Services (ITS). UIT exists to provide a wide range of information technology services to York’s faculty, staff and students in support of the University’s academic, research and administrative goals. Reporting to the Lead Architect, Systems Management Services, the Senior Systems Analyst provides senior-level technical support for the university’s main administrative and academic Servers. This includes the design and implementation of major computing facilities and environments, as well as ensuring the on-going availability, efficiency and security of systems. Applications running on supported Servers are critical to business operations of the University and include PeopleSoft Human Resources and Finance, Advancement Development Services, York Directory, centralized storage, load balance and high availability and University-wide applications such as Email and central Web pages. Furthermore, this position participates in the creation of policy and procedure through the ITIL process, in addition to consultation support to administrative groups including OIRA and Student Information Systems Group (SIS). If you have minimum a University degree in computer science or equivalent, plus 7 years’ experience where the experience demonstrates expert knowledge of several variants of the UNIX operating system, including Solaris, and various flavours of Linux including Ubuntu, Debian and Redhat then you may be interested in this excellent full time opportunity.
