Senior Engineer/Project Manager

RPS Group is an international consultancy employing around 5,000 people. We provide advice upon:

  • The development and management of the built & natural environment; 
  • The exploration and production of energy and other natural resources.

The RPS Infrastructure Business Stream, providing services across the U.K. and Ireland, wishes to recruit a Senior Engineer to join their Project Management team in Belfast.  

The Project Management Team within RPS are currently involved with a number of Water Infrastructure, Civil Engineering and Building developments primarily in Northern Ireland. Working for both Public and Private Clients we have highly motivated and experienced teams providing innovative solutions for the Built Environment. Due to an expanding workload we are looking to recruit new talent to supplement our existing Teams and help us to enhance our already excellent reputation.

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Engineering design for Civil Engineering projects;
  • Project Management of Water Infrastructure, Civil Engineering and Building developments
  • Management of workload and staff utilisation;
  • Liaising with other members of the Project Management team to deliver an effective service to our clients;
  • Business development and preparation of marketing submissions.

It is envisaged that travelling throughout the UK and Ireland may be required.

We are looking for a Chartered or near Chartered Engineer with the following attributes:

  • A BEng/MEng Honours degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant Project Management discipline (a Masters degree would be an advantage);
  • Substantial experience in Civil Engineering or other related works;
  • Chartered Membership (ICE, IEI or equivalent) would be an advantage;
  • Experience of Project Management including procurement and contract administration under NEC3;
  • Experience in the use of Project Management software – (MSProject);
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with clients and other professionals;
  • Good interpersonal skills, both on an individual and team level;
  • A full driving licence.
