Senior Database Administrator (Oracle)

My client is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (Oracle). This is an excellent opportunity to become a key player in a significantly growing technology group, working on an exciting and topical business challenge.

The Role:

  • Database Administration for Oracle Databases installations.
  • Incident Management Problem Management.
  • Installing, upgrading, configuration and patching of RDBMS software.
  • Ensuring compliance of the organisations security policies and standards.
  • Troubleshooting and fault fixing.
  • Performance Analysis and Tuning.
  • Implementing and supporting housekeeping procedures such as backups, integrity checking and optimization.
  • Implementing, testing and supporting contingency, UAT and development environments.
  • Ensuring the correct level of RDBMS monitoring is maintained.
  • Production and maintenance of high quality documentation.
  • Providing escalation support.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Oracle 10g / 11i RMAN/RAC.
  • Production Support Skills.
  • Ability to interpret and write SQL queries.
  • OEM/GRID knowledge.
  • Knowledge of tuning features/options.
  • Technical Knowledge of UNIX platforms.
  • A proven history of delivery to fixed timescales Oracle Production Support.
