Project Manager

Project Manager – Belfast

This is a great opportunity for a Project Manager to join one of the most high profile companies in Belfast for a fixed term contract.

The Client:

Our client is a well-known international law firm with offices worldwide. They set up their base here in Belfast about 2 years ago and have been growing the team ever since. They are looking for a Project Manager to join their existing team in Belfast on a fixed term contract.

The Job:

The Project Manager has responsibility for the full lifecycle (defining, documenting and delivering) of medium to large scale and impact projects (typically more than six months, with a medium to large team, budgets of upwards of £250,000 and managing multiple projects simultaneously with significant strategic impact) undertaken within Business Solutions

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven Project Management experience with a very good track record of delivering small projects on time, to budget and to agreed quality standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both orally and written.
  • Strong experience in leading, managing and motivating medium to large-sized teams.
  • Very good reporting, project planning and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project (or similar tools) to produce plans for programmes of work and individual projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure, successfully prioritising work without compromising quality.
  • Expert knowledge of the IT investment evaluation process, including cost/benefit analysis and estimating IT costs/resources.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies and the application development lifecycle.
  • Good knowledge of different software development methodologies e.g. waterfall, agile etc.
  • Strong appreciation of the need for, and use of, the Development and Controlled Test Environments.
  • Understanding of, and willingness to apply, the operating model, key deliverables and quality gates.
  • Familiar with risk management techniques; risk identification, analysis, estimation and mitigation.
  • Familiar with IT architecture, design, development methods, operational service & support.
  • An enthusiasm and passion for technology. The ability to promote technology within the firm, using business-friendly language, seeking opportunities with tangible business benefits.
  • Highly self-motivated, a self-starter who will undertake all activities to the highest professional standards.
  • Knowledge of the IT market and trends.

Requirements

* Proven project management experience with a strong track record of delivering medium to large projects on time, to budget and to agreed quality standards

* Strong verbal, written and presentation skills

* Strong experience in leading, managing and motivating a medium to large sized team

* Well developed people management and organisation skills

* Robust reporting skills, project planning skills and stakeholder management at all levels, particularly at senior levels

* Ability to work under pressure & successfully prioritise & make trade-offs on work & time

* Well-developed commercial acumen and experience of vendor selection processes

* Strong understanding of the IT market and emerging trends

* Expert knowledge of the IT investment evaluation process, including cost/benefit analysis, estimating IT cost/resources and financial management within an IT project context

* Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies and the application development lifecycle.

* Knowledge and experience of project management methodologies – e.g. Prince 2

* Knowledge and experience of ITIL processes is desirable
