Production Manager (Food Sector)

Production Manager (Food Sector)

Based in Co. Tyrone, you will have full responsibility for leading the manufacturing team within this fast paced rural manufacturing unit to achieve the operational targets. This is a wide ranging role in a successful & expanding fresh veg. manufacturing business (20+ operatives) and the role will cover the following:

  • Staff training and development
  • R&D and related process improvement
  • Support NPD and related activities (packaging, labelling etc.)
  • Manage product costings and manage seasonal cost variations
  • Support funding applications from various governmental and support bodies
  • Create and keep excel sheets up to date, submit weekly figures, and carry verify stock counts
  • Manage the food safety aspects and compliance
  • Support SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) activities on site
  • Support the development of ‘Lean’ activities across the site
  • Ensuring that highest standards of food safety and quality are met at all times
  • Overall responsibility for day to day running and efficiency of the factory
  • Motivate staff ensuring that production is carried out following standard operating procedures and customer orders are fulfilled
  • Oversee planned preventative maintenance operations

The candidate:

  • Minimum of 2 years management experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Strong numeracy, literacy and problem solving skills and with a pro-active and forward thinking mind-set
  • Up to date Food Safety / HACCP certifications
  • Experience dealing with plant maintenance
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of building successful teams
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident, assertive with sound decision making skills
  • Customer orientated and KPI driven
  • Good IT skills (MS Office)
