Wellington Professional Recruitment are proud to be working with our client who are an award winning and leading construction and utilities solution provider across a number of specific sectors such as Telecoms, Transport and Energy. They are a trusted partner to many leading blue chip companies, who are renowned for consistently delivering a quality and reliable service. Due to ongoing success they are looking to appoint a Procurement Assistant to work from their vibrant Head Office in Dublin. Reporting into the Procurement Manager you will be responsible for supporting the company procurment function.

Some of your key duties will include but not be limited to -

  • Arranging trials and demonstrations of supplier’s product/service if and when required
  • Agree terms, rates and trading conditions with suppliers
  • Assist with analysis of procurement strategy: How much do we spend, where we spend most of our time and effort?
  • Ensure supplier evaluations are performed and appropriate records updated to company in house system
  • Assist with ongoing monitoring of suppliers and review status regarding non-conformance etc
  • Identify and record corrective, preventative and improvement actions with company procurement function
  • Communicate supplier restrictions or change of status to users of product/service
  • Ensure adherence to administration requirements such as creation of POs, delivery dockets and invoicing.

In order to be considered for this exciting role you must have –

  • Experience in a similar Procurement/Purchasing support role within a relevant sector such as Construction/Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Ideally a relevant professional qualification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management such as CIPS or working towards this
  • Computer literate with experience of operating a computerized stock control system
  • Strong awareness of all relevant standards, processes and procedures in relation to materials sourcing and buying

As Procurement Assistant, you will also have excellent analytical and organisational skills as well as first class communication skills both written and verbal. Experience of working in the power/telecoms sectors would be advantageous to your application but certainly not essential.
