Nursing Home Manager Co Fermanagh

Our client is one of the UK’s premier care groups. They operate a number of homes across NI, including this home in Fermanagh, which provides elderly care across a range of needs. The home is extremely well run (passed last inspection without recommendation or requirement), and the environment is positive and pleasant for residents and staff, with a full refurbishment programme due to be completed in the coming weeks.

Applications are invited from experienced Nurse Managers who wish to undertake the next stage in their career and unlock an outstanding opportunity for professional and personal development. The successful applicant will bring with them strong supervisory experience, excellent clinical and care skills, and a clear commitment to the ongoing progression of their team. Candidates who can demonstrate strong experience as a Deputy Manager may be considered.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration on Part 1 of the NMC Register
  • Management qualification (or 3 years’ managerial experience within the last 5 years)
  • Excellent patient care and management experience

Duties:

  • Responsible for the day to day management of the Home
  • Supervise the professional work of all staff and ensure that individual patient care is of the highest standards, taking appropriate action when agreed standards of care are not being met
  • Ensure that procedures in particular regarding health and safety, fire, sickness/absenteeism are known by staff and adhered to at all time
  • Ensure the provision of an effective communication system
  • Have regard for the effective utilisation of resources (including staff) to ensure the Home is run in an efficient cost effective manner
  • Responsible for the interviewing and selection of all staff in the Home
  • Provide counsel for all staff as required
  • Oversee the induction and training of all staff
  • Keep sight of all current developments i.e. legislation, health board requirements which may affect the management of the Home
  • Provide or obtain such reports/returns that are required on a regular and irregular basis. Responsibility for adhering to Home policy for the safe custody, administration, disposal and recording of all pharmaceutical products held within the Home
  • Following and updating the Homes Policy & Procedures
