New Qualified Accountant

Our client is a well established Accountancy Firm based in Belfast. This firm deals with medium sized to large companies/organisations and continues to grow and make a good name within NI. A position has arisen for Newly Qualified Accountants to join their team on a permanent basis.

OVERVIEW

The aim of the Audit/Assurance Department is to provide peace of mind to our clients. We offer accounting solutions through our skills and experience. We are committed to providing a consistent audit service to our clients through the use of quality auditing tools and methodology.

The primary role of the Qualified Accountant will be to deal with the delivery of an effective audit service to clients. You will be able to work across a range of different sectors and you can expect to be involved in work which is both interesting and challenging.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES /RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing effective audit and business advice to a variety of clients
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and established clients in order to gain understanding of their business and ensure the efficient execution of the audit
  • Identify and understand client needs, suggest potential solutions on technical matters and communicate and agree client needs and potential solutions with managers
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure the delivery of the audit process
  • Effectively complete all aspects of the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology & risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Membership of Chartered Accountants Ireland, or equivalent
  • Degree Qualified with a minimum of a 2:1 OR 2:2 degree classification combined with Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Accounting
  • Working knowledge of: UK GAAP, IFRS, International Auditing Standards, & Financial Reporting Standards
  • A good working knowledge of Excel & Word
  • Experience and proven track record in work of a similar kind
  • Commitment to continuous improvement & personal development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Organisational and team working skills
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining client relationships

Salary will depend on experience and skills and will be discussed at interview stage along with fantastic company benefits and progression.
