Mechanical Project Engineer – Mid Ulster

Excellent career opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of  3 years’ experience to join a vibrant organisation as a lead Design Engineer.

Since their formation almost 30 years ago our client has enjoyed continual growth and expansion, having successfully introduced their branded range of specialist industrial equipment into niche global markets.

As the Lead Engineer within the organisation you will be responsible for spearheading engineering projects, driving forward developments in designs and processes to reflect emerging trends and technological advancements.  Although there will be some “hands-on” design work, the focus of the role will be on managing engineering projects, overseeing the work of Design Engineers, ensuring compliance to specifications, time-scales and budgets.  The role will entail managing relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors, ensuring all work, services and parts are to specification.  Many of the products are bespoke; there will therefore be a requirement to interact directly with customers, the sales and dealership teams, visiting sites across the world to fully understand requirements.

The role would suit a commercially astute engineer, someone driven to understand the global market, analysing competitors’ activity and customer requirements; planning and managing projects to cost effectively deliver against target.

The role will offer you the opportunity to work with autonomy, managing and planning your projects without close supervision.  The flat structure of the organisation, with key decision makers based on site will enable you to work flexibly, react quickly and influence the direction the company.

Candidates should be degree qualified Mechanical Engineers with at least 3 years post-graduate design experience.  Competence in AutoCAD is essential.
