M&E Co-ordinator – Water/Wastewater Projects

Hillsborough, Co Down – Regular travel to UK Mainland

Are you an M&E professional ideally with experience of working on Water/Wastewater projects? Would you like to work for one of the UK’s largest building and civil engineering companies on some very exciting and high profile civil engineering projects? This role comes with a very exciting remuneration package and is a permanent position within the company, so read on please!

Wellington Professional Recruitment is proud to be working with our client, an employer of choice from Northern Ireland, involved in some of the most impressive projects both in NI and the UK Mainland. Due to continued success and the awarding of some very high profile civil engineering projects they are looking to appoint an M&E Co-ordinator to work on projects in Northern Ireland with some travel to the UK when required. Given the nature of the role you should be flexible with travel to different project sites, for which you will be well compensated!

Some of your key duties will include the following -

  • Determine M&E design deliverables and programme with the Design team to meet the requirements of the project(s)
  • Coordinate and support the design team to effectively deliver design deliverables which have been reviewed for procurement and build-ability
  • Manage the M&E budgets and forecast through development, communication and reporting of the M&E procurement schedule and programme
  • Be involved in schemes through Pre Target Costing, reviewing and guiding the designers to a feasible and cost effective solution
  • Work in conjunction with the site team, to plan and execute M&E works on the project.
  • Take the project from inception through to final commissioning, meeting all project KPIs
  • Complete daily checks of progress on various sites
  • Manage the procurement of materials and subcontractors including quality checks

In order to be considered for this exciting role you must have:

  • At least 5 years experience in a similar M&E role ideally with knowledge of water/wastewater processes
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment, and associated installation and commissioning sequences
  • Working knowledge of civil construction services and technologies
  • Knowledge of Process operation, statutory compliance and reporting processes
  • CSCS Card

You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal. Strong business acumen and a flexible working attitude to the project and complexities sometimes faced with design aspects are equally important. A relevant 3rd level qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline would be advantageous to your application but certainly not essential.
