Maintenance Technician (Electrical)

The role:

To provide maintenance support to all site services, facilities and production processes in a dynamic manufacturing environment ensuring safety is paramount. You must be able to apply root cause analysis techniques to maximise equipment uptime and ensure excellent levels of customer service are maintained. This is a hands on role for a skilled electrician who will be responsible for the execution of planned and reactive maintenance activities and small improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform both planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance on all manufacturing equipment and building services on site.
  • Apply root cause analysis techniques to all equipment failures and propose counter measures to eliminate repetitive faults.
  • Develop & deliver process & equipment improvements to continuously drive efficiencies.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Coordinate and quality check work performed by outside contractors including issuing & control of relevant permits to work.
  • Perform minor building repairs including replacing door handles and installing notice boards etc.

 

The Person:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team or individually.
  • Flexible individual with hands on practical approach.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good awareness of health and safety systems – Permit to work, RAMS etc.
  • Proactive and continuously looking to develop and improve themselves.

 

Essential criteria:

  • Time served apprenticeship in a relevant discipline such as electrical engineering.
  • Electrical maintenance experience gained within a CNC manufacturing environment.
  • Analytical problem solving skills on CNC equipment – Siemens PLC’s, Drives, HMI’s.
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of practice in health and safety.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal customers, peers, vendors & contractors.
  • Computer literate

 

HOURS: Must be flexible for shift work (including call-out availability
