Lead Developer – Web Applications

Our client is leading provider of cutting edge software applications based near Antrim with an increasing portfolio of successful products. They are currently recruiting a Web applications lead developer to join the busy team.

Reporting to the technical director the successful candidate will work with a small team of developers and the senior management team and will be key in designing, coding and delivering solutions to our customers.

Main responsibilities:-

• To lead a small team of software developers/tester in order to deliver project solutions on time and on budget
• To be involved at all stages of the development life cycle: initial analysis, implementation, integration, testing, debugging and support
• To work collaboratively with the technical director to make sure that all aspects of the project are delivered as planned
• To understand the design concept, and advise how it can be implemented technically within constraints
• To deliver code which is well tested and consistently error free

This role will suit a senior level software developer with strong and successful technical lead experience with advanced level (knowledge and experience) of programming languages and methodologies and experience of managing and motivating staff to deliver projects with stretching scope and objectives.

This is a hands-on role and will include development in open source technologies (PHP, Javascript, HTML and MySQL initially), with other platforms and languages being added as they are required.

Candidates must be:-

• Experience in troubleshooting and ability to solve problems in coding, testing and deployment.
• Possess knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures and the latest software tools and technologies.
• Deep understanding and interest in software development, languages, methodologies and frameworks.
