IT Helpdesk Manager

Helpdesk Manager – Belfast – £28,000 – £30,000

Our client is a leader in providing platforms, people and services to support high-value interactions at every stage of the customer lifecycle. Working with some of the world’s leading companies, providing sales, marketing services, print and fulfilment, customer and technical support that help grow their business and increase customer satisfaction

They now require a Helpdesk Manager to manage a service desk and team of 12 1st line Support Engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical support background and have experience of leading a support team. As the Helpdesk Manager you will deliver consistent IT support and service delivery across the business to internal and external customers and take responsibility for purchasing, roll out & upgrading of licensing and equipment.

In this role you will be the key representative for your customers and will co-ordinate the various infrastructure services being provided, possibly by a number of different technical teams and third-party service providers

Essential Criteria:
• At least 18 months recent strong experience in team management OR management of at least 3 onsite engineers
• Strong technical acumen with at least 3 years helpdesk support experience
• At least 12 months experience working with Microsoft Active Directory
• Sound working knowledge of TCP/IP, especially name resolution (DNS, WINS, Hosts, etc)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast- paced, dynamic environment
• Experience of compiling and issuing reports
• Experience in setting up processes and procedures

Desirable Criteria:
• Service desk / helpdesk management in a multisite environment
• Desktop and network troubleshooting strategies, leading a skilled desktop support team in incident and problem management
• In depth knowledge of Microsoft Volume Licensing
• Citrix / Terminal services administration and troubleshooting experience
• At least 6 months experience working with Microsoft Exchange.
