Heavy Vehicle Mechanic – Toronto, Canada

HGV Technicians – Ontario – Canada

GlobalForce Resource Ltd. is working in partnership with our client, a truck dealership based in Ontario, to recruit HGV Mechanics

The Company:

Our client have over 20 years of commercial vehicle sales, service and support within the Canadian market and represent brands including Freightliner and Western Star.

We are looking for qualified and experienced professional HGV Technicians who have experience working ideally within a truck dealership or similar

Main duties as a Technician will include:

  • Perform truck repairs efficiently
  • Diagnose and repair AC
  • Diagnose and repair chassis and major component electronics
  • Diagnose / overhaul engines
  • Diagnose / overhaul transmissions / rear axles
  • Repair cab interior/exterior
  • Ensure paperwork is complete and accurate
  • Work within warranty and company guidelines and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years apprenticeship plus 3 years additional experience
  • ARC training / certification an advantage
  • Current OEM Electrical
  • Approved brand experience; ideally Mercedes-Benz Trucks or similar such as Volvo, Scania etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy truck mechanical components and principles of operation
  • Computer literate
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Commitment to productivity and good work ethic
  • Commitment to employee morale/customer satisfaction

Remuneration Package:

Starting hourly salary rates between CAD $25 – $32 p/h depending on relevant brand training and experience (in line with provincial trade rates)

Prospects:

This role would initially be on a temporary work permit with a pathway for successful applicants with the correct trade experience to gain permanent residency via Express Entry for Canada within a short space of time
