Financial Controller – Tyrone

Our client is an award winning global manufacturing company.  They are now looking to strengthen their team with the addition of a Financial Controller.

Job Purpose and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Finance Director the successful applicant will lead, manage and develop the Finance Team ensuring timely and efficient processing of financial transactions and provision of high quality information for performance reporting whilst ensuring continued compliance as required.

  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day finance function and will be expected to engage regularly with all commercial aspects of the business
  • Provide first class leadership to the Finance, IT and Administration Teams and manage and develop the teams to achieve improved efficiency
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and manage the year end reporting process, including statutory accounts and external audit
  • Technical and Tax Compliance – ensure the company complies with all necessary accounting technical standards and all relevant tax legislation, including Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE and all other taxes (including foreign taxes)
  • Lead the annual budget process: analyse, review and set budgets within an agreed timetable
  • Monitor and review processes used within the finance and admin departments, identifying possible efficiency improvements
  • Provide comprehensive, proactive and value added finance support and guidance to other Functions within the business
  • Ensure that foreign subsidiary companies comply with all local reporting, statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor cash flow, including the management  of rolling future cash flow forecasts
  • Deliver appropriate timely information to other stakeholders as required, for example the Banks and Invest NI

     

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Professional qualification in accounting CIMA/ACA/ACCA
  • A minimum of 3 years’ Post Qualification Experience
  • Highly proficient MS Office experience, especially excel
  • Managed a Team of People
  • Working technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and Corporation Tax
  • Proficient in Windows based Software Products
  • Good numerical and interpersonal skills
  • Reliability and honesty
