Finance Administrator 12 month Contract

Finance Administrator – One Year Fixed Term Contract

Allstate Northern Ireland is a wholly owned subsidiary of Allstate Corporation employing over 2,000 people in Belfast, Northland (Derry) and Strabane.  The company provides software development, support, maintenance  and contact centre services across a range of systems and technologies to the Allstate Corporation based in Chicago, Illinois.

 

The Role:  To assist in the running of an effective Finance Department.

 

Primary responsibilities:

1.    Assistance in the maintenance of the accounting registers of the company and control of supporting documentation, to include:

 

-          Accounts payable register

-          Cheque register

-          Expenses register

-          On call register

-          Purchase orders

 

2.    Preparation of supplier statement reconciliations and paperwork for payment of suppliers

 

3.    Maintenance of general financial documentation

 

Secondary responsibilities:

4.    Assistance with the preparation of information for payroll processing

 

5.    Participation in the month end process

 

6.    Involvement in account reconciliations

 

7.    Assistance with ad hoc financial analysis

 

8.    Work as part of the Finance Team on any other tasks that fall within the finance area

 

 

 

 

Essential Criteria:

 

  • Applicants must have achieved a 2.1 or higher in a Finance or Accounting degree.
  • Applicants must have at least 12 months’ experience in a similar Finance environment.

·         Applicants must be either an EU citizen or possess a UK Tier 1 General work visa or a Tier 2 dependent visa which entitles the holder to take up full time employment in the UK/NI

 

Selection Process:

 

  • Applicants who are shortlisted will be invited to attend an Excel/Aptitude Test

 

 

The successful applicant will commence a one year, fixed term contract in December 2014. There may be the opportunity of a permanent role at the end of the fixed term contract depending on business requirements and the performance of the candidate during the 12 month fixed term period.
