Equine Instructor – Enniskillen

We are inviting applications on behalf of our client, based in Enniskillen, for an Equine Instructor.

 

This position is a temporary post and the successful candidate must be prepared to undertake flexible working hours including some evenings and weekends.

 

The expected duties for this role will be:

 

Teaching and assessing students/trainees within the College and work environment in a range of equine related subjects and practical activities in accordance with the standards of the course validating body/College requirements through:-

*  Planning, organising and delivering education/training sessions in line with required standards;

*  Planning visits to student/trainee employers throughout Northern Ireland to undertake reviews and assessments in the subject area

*  Assessing the ability of students/trainees and recording all student information in the required format (both paper copy and computer)

*  Marking / Evaluating assessment results and providing feedback to students/trainees;

*  Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Codes of Practice and other College protocols at all times;

*  Attending all meetings as required associated with the management of the course and provide feedback to programme managers as appropriate.

*  Assisting staff  with the care, welfare and exercising of college horses in preparation for practical activities, shows, sales, etc.

 

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

 

*  British Horse Society Assistant Instructor level (or equivalent), is minimum level required.

*  A full and current Driving Licence.

 

Desirable -

 

*  BHS Intermediate Instructor level (or equivalent).

*  At least 1 year’s equine teaching/instructing experience (gained within the last 3 years). 

 

Due to the nature of the role the successful will be required to undergo an Enhanced Access Clearance at a cost of £33.00
