Director of Corporate Services

Job. Director of Corporate Services
Salary £57,000- £73,000
Location. Belfast
Duration. 9 month contract with possible extension . Contract will commence January 2015

We are currently recruiting for a Director of Corporate services for an examining Council based in Belfast. This role will initially be a 9 month contract with possible extension. and will be a supporting role to the Chief Executive. We are looking for a senior Management candidate with 3 years experience and membership of a recognised professional body in ONE of the following areas

Quality Management
Information and Communications Technology
Accountancy
Human Resources Management
Business Administration
Marketing and Communications

The Role
You will lead a multidisciplinary team of senior professionals. You will provide direction and leadership across designated functional areas:
-Human Resource Management
Accountability and Performance Management
-Information and communications technology
Financial Management
-Project Management

You will be directly responsible for a budget of 4m

You will ensure that the corporate services business units deliver services to al internal and external customers which meet the highest standards set by any of the following

-Customers including learners , parents , teachers, schools and colleges
Council Committees
- The Chief Executive
-Internal customers including all business units and teams
- External Stakeholders, including NIAO, OFM&DFM , DEL and Department of Finance and Personnel
External Quality commission including Lip , ISO and OHSAS

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

University Degree or equivalent qualification

Post Graduate qualification OR Full membership of a recognised Professional Body in at least one of the following areas:

Quality Management
Information and Communications Technology
Accountancy
Human Resources Management
Business Administration
Marketing and Communications

3 Years Experience at senior management level leading large and or multi- disciplinary teams in at least 1 of the following areas

Quality Management
Information and Communications Technology
Accountancy
Human Resources Management
Business Administration
Marketing and Communications

You must be able to display Evidence of
Achievement of Personal Targets and performance objectives
Personal Involvement in critically reviewing , on an ongoing basis, structures and resources and for implementing and resultant organisational change
Orientation towards change demonstrated through evidence of implementing significant change in current and previous organisations

Demonstrable leadership capability with personal involvement in motivating and developing people towards sustained performance improvement

We are looking for a dynamic leader with excellent

Analytical and problem solving skills
Programme and Project management skills
