Director of City and Neighbourhood Services

Director of City and Neighbourhood Services
Up to £100k

Belfast is fast becoming one of the most attractive cities in the UK and Ireland to live, work, study and visit.

We have recently embarked on a major programme of transformation and organisational change to deliver on our ambition for the city and our commitment to providing modern, integrated, high quality and cost effective front-line services that make a real difference to the city’s 330,000 residents and their communities.

This will be achieved through innovation in approach, partnership, joint working and the development of an in-house City and Neighbourhood Services department that is customer-focused and customer-facing.

In this newly created leadership role, you will have a diverse remit that includes grounds, enforcement, environmental health, waste, community and support services – resourced by a multi-disciplinary staff of over 1000. You will be responsible for reviewing and modernising these services to ensure they are performing at their best and that resources, processes and technology are integrated to maximise efficiency, improve performance and increase customer satisfaction.

You will have experience of operating in a senior management role, leading the delivery of front line services to the public in a similarly complex operating environment. The sector in which you have gained this experience is less important.

What is essential is that you can demonstrate the strategic leadership, agility, commitment to service excellence, large-scale change and resource management skills that this role demands.
