Consultant/Systems Administrator

If you’re looking for the opportunity to join a rapidly growing IT security organisation, then this is the opportunity that you’ve been looking for where you will design, onboard and support customers in a secure PaaS environment. You will ensure the sound design and delivery of technical services for new and existing clients, as well as support and apply governance to the full stack of hosting technologies including storage, hypervisor, OS, web server and databases on a variety of technologies, including Windows Server, Linux, Citrix Xen, VMWare, IIS, Apache, Oracle, MSSQL and more. As a SME for both internal teams and customers the role will see you:
Maintain and monitor all network, security and computer systems to meet the organization’s current and future requirements Responsible for management, maintenance and architecture of storage, virtualised environment, Servers, network devices, and productivity tools Monitor systems and identify performance issues proactively Work within SLA’s Test all changes to networks, hardware, software, and hosted applications Execute Active Directory solutions to improve security, optimize system integrations, assist in problem resolution, research Active Directory features and behavior, document current and desired state, and provide application teams support for project delivery activities Resolve issues and prepare status reviews and reports Interact and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, distributors and contract consultants
You will bring to the role:
Solid technical background in a Hosted/Managed services environment including infrastructure networks, hardware, software and telecommunications Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange 2010 and SQL Server Good knowledge of security as it relates to cloud based infrastructure Experience using automated monitoring tools Able to gather relevant information systematically to troubleshoot and resolve issues Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices Strong virtualization experience using, VMWare, Citrix Xen. Proven ability to work in a cloud based or hosting environment Ability to build a full Windows environment from the ground up, including DC, AD, Group Policy etc
While any experience with the following will be a plus:
Linux – Debian/Redhat Storage – management, network, backup, redundancy, encryption Oracle/MSSQL/MySQL Database – install/configure/manage/tune/replicate Apache/Tomcat Connector/Jakarta Cloud providers: AWS, Azure Ideally MCSE & VCP certified Optional experience in SPLUNK, AlienVault, Nagios and Security
