Commercial Purchasing Manager- Armagh

Commercial Procurement Manager

Our client, a large and successful distribution company based in County Armagh currently has an opportunity for a Commercial Procurement Manager to head up the commercial and purchasing functions of the business. 

The Key responsibilities of the role will be:

Leading Customer Margin Team:

  • Daily margin checks
  • Quoting for new business (existing and potential customers)
  • Providing training on profit maximisation
  • Facilitate seasonal sales campaigns / promotional pricing
  • Continually review commercial viability of pricing
  • Competitor & market analysis       
  • Use of CRM system

Leading Category specialist team

  • Sourcing innovate products to increase range and improve margin and quality
  • Influencing margin by negotiating with supplier, consolidating stock lines and increasing sales
  • Product selection
  • Product training  

Commercial Management

  • In liaison with the Finance Director, negotiate trade agreements with suppliers

Person Specification

Essential

  • Staff management
  • Purchasing experience at a senior level including supplier negotiations
  • Product sourcing, category management & profit improvements
  • Able to analyse very large quantities of data and produce clear actionable information
  • Able to take decisions quickly and decisively
  • Able to analyse very large quantities of data and produce clear actionable information
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including practical use of formulas, pivot tables and models

Desirable

  • 2 years experience of working in a B2B Distribution, Manufacturing or FMCG industry
  • Track record of working with and influencing sales and operational teams to make changes to the business to improve profitability
  • Procurement background
  • The ability to demonstrate an understanding of value add through a commercial function.
  • Coaching skills
  • Supplier Negotiation skills
  • Experience in maintaining and improving product data on ERP systems

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
