Chartered Accountant Manager grade

Our Audit & Business Assurance Department is currently seeking to appoint experienced and highly capable Managers/Assistant Managers. You will play an integral role in all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of key clients. You will also provide assistance to Partners and Senior Management in both client work and in the management of the Audit Department and on occasions the wider firm. On occasion, you may become involved in special assignments and be involved in completing tenders for exciting new opportunities with other BDO departments and BDO member firms.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES /RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility for planning and managing assignments allotted to you for compliance with all technical requirements including conducting technical reviews and raising any issues of which Partners need to be aware.

Completing assignments within agreed budgets and time-scales and identify opportunities for additional billings

Reviewing and approving for partner’s signatures all financial statements, opinions and reports or other deliverable documents for clients.

Building and maintaining strong client relationships with clients at senior levels, including developing a strong commercial understanding of their business

Support Partners and Senior Managers in the development of new business relationships and business proposals through high level sales and marketing activity

Support partners with the implementation and communication of any new business strategy for existing clients, target clients and internal business

Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff within teams, on client premises and in the office

Any other duties as may reasonably be required

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Membership of Chartered Accountants Ireland, or equivalent

Degree qualified with a minimum of a 2:1 OR 2:2 degree classification combined with Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Accounting

Working knowledge of: UK GAAP, IFRS, International Auditing Standards, & Financial Reporting Standards

Experience in leading complex audits

Experience of systems and/or controls testing as well as substantive auditing, including consolidations, group audits, statutory accounts and disclosures.

Working knowledge of financial products

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

Working knowledge of: US GAAP

Previous experience of Solicitors Account Regulations and Charities SORP Accounting

Experience in using APT software
