Customer Account Controller = Business Graduate Opportunity

Who you will be working with:

Abacus Professional Recruitment has been chosen by one of Northern Ireland’s Top 100 Companies to recruit for a Customer Account Controller to join their successful team. Our client has been in operation for over 50 years and now employs over 370 people.

This is an entry level position which will allow you to gain superb experience within the finance department of a large business that services clients across UK & Ireland. The training and support available for the chosen candidate will be of the highest level.

Salary:

£15,000 starting then to £17,000 after 6 months probation.

What you will do:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The key role of the Customer Account Manager is to manage the day to day Credit and post-sale Customer Relationship within the company.
  • This is a role that requires excellent relationship building, a high level of commercial awareness and a proven track record in Credit or Customer Management.
  • The successful candidate will manage up to 900 commercial accounts and various large contracts.
  • The person will autonomously manage the whole customer relationship end to end, including query/dispute management and timely collection of due balances.

What do we look for?

Essential:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a busy office.
  • 5 GCSE’s with Maths & English A-C grades.
  • Excellent administrative and customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Desirable:

  • Third Level qualification, ideally a Business or Accountancy degree.
  • 2 years’ experience in a B2B Credit Control environment.
  • Proven track record in making commercially minded credit decisions.
  • Previous experience in visiting customers off-site would be advantageous.
  • Membership of a professional body (ACP/ICM/IACP) preferred.
