Business Development Manager – Facilities/Services

Business Development Manager – Field Based – Northern Ireland Territory.
Salary £18-21k OTE – Circa 30k

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for conducting the correct balance of sales activities needed to grow the customer base in line with Company targets and KPIs. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, who will provide direction and assist where necessary to help achieve sales targets in each market.

In line with KPI`s the BDE will strive to exceed objectives and targets in line with the company vision and values. The BDE will be responsible for planning daily activities with KPIs in mind and structure their week ahead productively to ensure a pipeline of quotations is visible and transparent.
Above all the BDE must be diligent, thorough and hungry for new challenges with a positive mental attitude.

Responsibilities:
Sales & Target Management
1. Research and understand where the focus of activities need to be to succeed.
2. Identify key multi-site opportunities and key long term clients to target.
3. Establish a plan to build up a pipeline of appointments and quotations.
4. Thoroughly execute this plan to ensure pipeline growth is visible and productive.
5. Report weekly to the Commercial Manager and provide detailed pipeline synopsis.
6. Be capable of flexible and adaptive thinking to change approach where necessary.
7. To provide professional and timely quotations.
8. Request assistance at any time when in difficulty.

Customer Relations Management
1. Track and record all quotations on CRM, won, lost, outstanding and reasons why.
2. Maintain and update CRM systems for all new customer detail.
3. Plan appointments and track call backs efficiently on CRM.
4. Plan cold calling on CRM with call backs utilised to maximise effectiveness of time.
5. Effective management of new customer paperwork and communication with the customer base via personal visits, telephone and email.
6. Where appropriate identify cross selling opportunities with existing and new clients.
7. Effective management of any client complaints (complaints and appropriate actions included in monthly report).

Financial Management
1. Record quotation detail centrally for reporting purposes and identify pipeline trends.
2. Understand detailed GP/Margins and know where business limitations are and adapt.
3. Understand and maintain detailed cost analysis required for each site.
4. Provide weekly summaries of appointments made, attended, quotations and sales.
5. Thorough Pipeline management, following up on all relevant activity regularly.
6. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
7. Communicate with management when problems arise to allow for timely solutions.

Summary
The successful BDE will have excellent telephone skills to ascertain the correct decision makers and secure appointments. In conjunction they will be highly presentable and professional for all meetings.
The role will involve the BDE to be efficient with time and must understand how to prioritise tasks especially when dealing with different markets and customers. The BDE must integrate well with operations and understand that the sales/operations synergy is crucial to the business.
The role will involve great tenacity to maximise cross selling opportunities. To be successful overall will heavily depend on spending the right time on the right activity. Prospecting activity is key for this role as with any other sales role, however as proven the previous year, the right activity spent on the right customers has provided exceptional results.
Finally the role will also involve penetrating new markets in new regions. A good BDE must have a thirst for tackling new challenges with a view to being successful.
