ARCSight Content Engineer – Belfast

Due to the continued success of the NI business they are currently looking to expand the Infrastructure team in Belfast. 

 

The Role:

The Information Security Services Department is responsible for managing security technologies. This includes architecture, design, implementation, and support of security controls of encryption, firewall and perimeter security, anti-malware and endpoint security, network security, directory services, and security monitoring. The department is responsible for insuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems.

This role will focus on the management of ArcSight Enterprise Security Manager, ArcSight Connector Servers, and ArcSight Logger. The successful candidate’s primary accountabilities will be for the design, troubleshooting, and implementation of content within the ArcSight environment.   Additional responsibilities will include hardware/software lifecycle management, problem determination and resolution, software configuration, new report generation, and general support activities.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Participate in Security Event Management use case development.
• Design, implement, and document content based on use cases.
• Partner with the Security Operations Centre to test and operationalize new content.
• Troubleshoot content issues.
• Act as point of escalation for issues with content.
• Help design and deploy new dashboards and workflows within ESM.

Secondary Responsibilities Include:
• Monitoring system feeds to ensure high availability of data.
• Deploying new connectors to the production ArcSight environment.
• Creating custom scripts to help maintain the ArcSight environment.
• Identifying and resolving issues with environment performance.
• Supporting threat management in incident resolution.
• Supporting partners leveraging ArcSight products.

 

Essential Criteria:

    • 3rd level IT or Engineering Degree/HND qualification;

    • Minimum of 4 years industry field experience in a security related role, including at least 3 years Network Security experience;

    • Direct knowledge and industry experience of ArcSight ;

    • Understanding of Security Event Management, including how to map events across environments to build a view of activity;

    • Experience managing complex software deployments;

    • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to transform technical knowledge into business language (e.g. reports, presentations, etc.);

    • Ability to work successfully with others in large and small teams. Ability to motivate and inspire others to perform at a high level, taking appropriate risks, and accepting personal accountability for actions and decisions 

      Desirable Criteria:

    • Programming and scripting experience – Perl, Powershell, BASH, etc
