Accounts Payable Assistant – Belfast

Accounts Payable Assistant – Belfast

Abacus is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join an international legal firm in Belfast city centre on a full time and permanent contract.

Candidates must have previous experience working in a similar role.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Purchase Ledger
  • Registration of invoices of the Purchase Ledger System on a daily basis as the invoices are received into the Accounts Department
  • Posting of invoices as they are returned to the Accounts Department following authorisation.
  • Ensuring prompt payment of authorised invoices. Filing paid invoices
  • Dealing with queries & chasing up authorised invoices
  • Prompt logging of invoices upon receipt
  • Arranging payments in accordance with suppliers terms & conditions ensuring that no interest is charged to the account
  • Posting Client Money Department’s bank transfer
  • Filing
  • Opening Accounts department post

Essential Criteria

  • 2 years’ experience in the last 5 years within an Accounts payable function.
  • Language skills desirable
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills and a minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent
  • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Enthusiastic and pro-active approach
  • Ability to assimilate large amounts of information quickly & learn rapidly
